U Rock for Kids Blog

“U Rock™ for Kids” is a movement to promote inspiration in strength, courage, friendship, self-esteem and confidence. The idea for “U Rock™ came about as a way to help kids feel encouraged, accepted and reassured that they do, indeed, ROCK in their daily interactions at school or at home.

The idea behind “U Rock” is that ALL kids (and everyone from 1 – 100) can use a little encouragement from time to time. Sometimes it’s just a pat on the back, or some supportive words, or a mental “high five”, or even a big bear hug.  Each one of us can use some kind of acknowledgement of feeling good about who we are and keeping a positive attitude—a reminder that we really can “be our best selves”. U Rock™ for Kids can boost self-esteem in

a fun, humorous way that kids can relate to, with heartfelt slogans and attention grabbing pictures that make it easy for kids to get the
intended messages.

“U Rock” suggests building ourselves up and others up at the same time.

“Do Good, Feel Good, Others are Good, I am Good.
Do something for others and do it for you!"

Let's Change the World

Why can't we all just be friends? In this world where being kind is so much easier than being mean, why don't people try kindness? You can smile at someone, open a door for a person for the person behind you, cut someone's grass or pull their weeds, help a friend with homework, just say "hi" to a schoolmate. Being kind doesn't take much effort. Being kind reminds me of smiling. Frowning or being mean takes way more energy than being considerate and thoughtful and compassionate. What is one thing you can do today to send out a good vibe of niceness? Let's "pay it forward" today with one act of kindness and see how this one act can spread joy from one person, to two people, to a whole community.
Being kind only takes "YOU." Be Kind!

Acts of Kindess

You probably have heard about “Random Acts of Kindness.”  If you do an online search, you’ll find an overabundance of ideas to accomplish Random Acts of Kindness:  35 Random Acts of Kindness; 103 Random Acts of Kindness; 101 Random Acts of Kindness; 261 Random Acts of Kindness,
75 Random Acts of Kindness, and so on.  To me, that means that you have so many choices of doing something kind for someone.  As easy as
holding the door open for someone to as extravagant as painting someone’s house.  What is one kind act you can do for someone….
a random act of kindness?
Where do these random acts start?
At home!  If you live with other people, anything you do to create
“your household” is a start for you to extend your random act outside
of the household to your neighbor and then the community.
